A life-changing move

I walked away from urban life and the corporate world in 2007 to live in a beautiful and perhaps  remote part of the West of Ireland.  As soon as I moved, I knew I had found my place. I knew I wouldn’t move again and that I would make it work. In fact, I ruled out any other possibility.

North Clare, home to the Burren & Cliffs of Moher, is very beautiful, with magnificent landscapes and coastlines, a very vibrant culture, and an intriguing history. It’s no surprise then that it’s also a very popular tourist destination and perhaps also inevitable that I ‘fell into’ tourism shortly after getting here.

When I'm not at work...

I share my life with my husband (yes, Jarlath), our three children, our dog and our cat. Their hobbies are my hobbies! Lots of sports pitches, music classes and dance sessions fill the diary most weeks - pandemic-permitting!

I love learning and am always doing one course or another - anything from interior design and professional coaching to regenerative tourism and yoga! I love the tourism industry because it has been teaching me every single day that I've been a part of it.

I enjoy being a traveller myself, and love trying out great food and wine. I spent my very early years in California and return there often - my very best mentor lives there!

I'm dabbling in yoga and meditation and I have aspirations to play a musical instrument myself some day.

Walking in the countryside, through The Burren or on my local beach in Lahinch remain my very favourite ways to unwind.
