GeoparkLIFE 2013-2017 was a Tourism for Conservation Demonstration Programme established by the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark to seek a collaborative balance between the tourism interests and the conservation needs of the Geopark region.

Burren & Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark and Burren Ecotourism Network
The Burren Ecotourism Network was established and nurtured by the Burren & Cliffs of Moher Geopark. The Geopark, an office of Clare County Council, sought to bring tourism enterprises together so that they could work together and collaborate with the council in development sustainable approaches to tourism development in the region.
The Network is a partner of the Burren & Cliffs of Moher Geopark, a region of international geological significance in Co. Clare, West of Ireland.

This was a 5-year demonstration project, that explored approaches and developed methods for achieving a balance between conservation and tourism interests in the Geopark region.
One programme strand focused specifically on 'Engaging Tourism Enterprises' in sustainable tourism practices.

Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark
Funded by Cavan County Council and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council for the Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark Business Network. All content was tailored to the specific requirements and objectives of the Geopark. Our ability to do this was enhanced by our familiarity with the region through our experience from delivering the original Sustainability Training Pilot Programme in 2020-21 as well as the Geopark 10-Year Development Strategy which we delivered in 2019.

We have extensive experience, from both a research and practice perspective, in supporting the emergence of sustainable approaches within businesses and destinations. We integrate the Sustainable Development Goals into our programme design and delivery, thereby building awareness and understanding and highlighting how each business and destination can contribute in practical and meaningful ways.
