Deepening the Discussion and Navigating Leadership

Even if, like me, you shun New Year's Resolutions, we just can't get away from the turn of the year being a moment to pause, reflect and recalibrate. After a busy few months, the break has offered that rare gift of space, and the time to let ideas land and new questions surface properly.
As I look into 2026, one word keeps cropping up: depth. Fewer projects perhaps, less stretch in the conventional sense, and getting real about achieving a different kind of more e.g. more time inside the work, more care given to how leadership shows up in practice, more attention to what lasts once the programme ends and the metrics are reported.
That instinct sits behind this month’s theme of Deepening the Discussion. It’s an invitation I’m offering myself as much as anyone else: to do less skimming, to dwell on how leadership really shows up in practice, and to design for legacy while delivering what’s been commissioned.
Wishing you a delightfully deep 2026. Athbliain faoi shéan is faoi mhaise!
