A life-changing move
I walked away from urban life and the corporate world 14 years ago to live in a beautiful and perhaps remote part of the West of Ireland. As soon as I moved, I knew I had found my place. I knew I wouldn’t move again and that I would make it work. In fact, I ruled out any other possibility.
North Clare, home to the Burren & Cliffs of Moher, is very beautiful, with magnificent landscapes and coastlines, a very vibrant culture, and an intriguing history. It’s no surprise then that it’s also a very popular tourist destination and perhaps also inevitable that I ‘fell into’ tourism just over a decade ago.
A rare opportunity to learn and innovate
Between 2009 and 2016, I worked in The Burren & Cliffs of Moher Geopark. A special set of circumstances meant I got to test, implement and evaluate many approaches to sustainable tourism development, collaborating with state agencies, local authorities and tourism business owners all at once. It was a highly creative and energizing place to be.
A number of projects which I led or collaborated on in the areas of tourism networking, food tourism and sustainable tourism came to be regarded as industry innovations at that time. Some even achieved Irish, European and global award recognition.
During this time I learned that my true strength lies in bringing people together, enabling them to see with fresh eyes and imagine new and better ways forward together.
A journey of continuous improvement
I love learning and am always doing one course or another - anything from interior design to professional coaching to yoga! Click here for a look at my LInkedIn profile.
I love the tourism industry because it has been teaching me every single day that I've been a part of it.
Here's one thing I've learned: the tourism industry is full of ambitious, creative and conscientious business owners who have to contend with a challenging and rapidly changing environment (even before Covid). One thing I know for sure is that they need support.
This is what The Tourism Space is all about. It's a platform that creates lots of ways for tourism professionals to connect, learn and be better.
When I'm not at work..
I share my life with my husband, our three children and our dog. Their hobbies are my hobbies! Lots of sports pitches, music classes and dance sessions fill the diary most weeks - pandemic-permitting!
I enjoy being a traveller myself, and love trying out great food and wine.
I spent my very early years in California and return there often - my very best mentor lives there!
I'm dabbling in yoga and meditation and I have aspirations to play a musical instrument myself some day.
Walking in the countryside, through The Burren or on my local beach in Lahinch remain my very favourite ways to unwind.
You're in good company
I highly recommend Tina's coaching skills. I have benefitted hugely from a series of one-to-one sessions with Tina and can confidently say that the support I have received has enabled me to take my business to the next level.

Suffice to say I now think very differently than I used to, I have gained clarity, a genuine vision for my future on an identified path that has tangible markers to measure my development. I now think like a businessman who can tour guide rather than a tour guide who was trying to run a business.
Mark Rodgers, Dalriada Kingdom Tours
Tina knows the tourism industry in and out and also has the presentation skills to instruct and coach others to become better professionals. Knowledge means little in this business without being friendly and empathy and Tina has that in spades. She is always wiling to assist and think along to find creative and innovative solutions to the challenges that the tourism industry may pose.
Jorgen Hartogs, International Tour Guide
Tina's presentation skills are fantastic and she is an engaging, informative and inspiring speaker which contributes to her impressive abilities as a trainer and coach in a group or individual setting. Her drive and commitment to each project I have worked with her on have been key success factors for these and she is rightly recognized as an industry expert in networking, sustainable tourism and business innovation.
